Our surgical facility
Our surgical facility is located at the rear of the main building and features a purpose-built operating theatre, two padded induction and recovery stalls with real-time video monitoring, and a dedicated preparation room.
The theatre is equipped with a state-of-the-art padded operating table, advanced anaesthetic ventilation and monitoring systems, and specialised surgical instruments to support a wide range of elective and emergency procedures.
Standing surgical procedures can also be performed safely in our centrally located examination room when appropriate.
Our surgical staff
Surgical procedures are performed by one of our two board-certified specialist surgeons, who bring extensive experience from both academic and private practice. Their expertise encompasses orthopaedic, soft tissue, and emergency surgery.
General anaesthesia is administered and monitored by one of our specially trained veterinarians using advanced ventilation systems and comprehensive monitoring equipment to ensure patient safety throughout every procedure.
Our experienced veterinary nurses play an essential role in every surgery, providing skilled perioperative care and helping to ensure each procedure runs smoothly and efficiently.

In a small number of cases, horses may require highly specialised procedures or equipment that are best provided at another facility. When appropriate, we will refer these patients to the most suitable specialist centre within the state, ensuring every horse receives the highest standard of surgical care available.
